A groundbreaking Global AgriTech Innovation Seminar, organised by the Global Youth in AgriTech Network (GYANT), is set to take place in Aberdeen, United Kingdom, today. The hybrid event, hosted at One Tech Hub from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (GMT+1), will gather leaders and innovators to discuss how technology can cultivate a more sustainable agricultural future.
The seminar, themed “Cultivating the Future: Harnessing Technology for Sustainable Agriculture”, aims to tackle global food security challenges by connecting policymakers, entrepreneurs, investors, and researchers.
A key feature of the event is the showcase of innovations by young AgriTech entrepreneurs from around the world. Speaking ahead of the event, Founder/Chief Executive, GYANT, Dr (Mrs) Idongesit Mbaram noted:

A stellar lineup of experts and thought leaders will lead discussions across various aspects of AgriTech. The keynote addresses will be delivered by Jerry L. Cunningham, an American agricultural development expert with over 50 years of experience, and Dr. Pascal Ezenkwu, a lecturer from Robert Gordon University. Mr. Cunningham, managing director of AWAA, an American-based agricultural development company, has extensive experience in large-scale projects, including the installation of over 1,000 irrigation systems worldwide. His work has significantly impacted Nigeria’s agricultural sector over the last 26 years.
Panels will feature prominent figures such as Managing Director, AKADEMIYA2063, Dr. Debisi Araba, who will serve as a moderator. Other panelists include Pete Preston, founder of Settlrz Ltd and Everything AI, an expert in demystifying emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and big data; Oleksandr Chernykh, a legal advisor specializing in investment projects and international commerce law; and Bolaji Akinboro, a high-impact technology entrepreneur and co-founder of Cellulant, a pan-African FinTech company. Bolaji’s pioneering work in AgriTech has impacted 8 million farmers across multiple countries. The panels will cover crucial topics, including digital solutions, climate-smart agriculture, and finance.
Other notable speakers include Dr. Angel Adelaja, Dr. Adekunle Oke, Caroline Okafor, Dr. Dewei Yi, Emmanuel Zoe Agbesi, and Aisha Kasim. Andrew Okhenoaghue Umoru and Richard Mark Mbaram will be special guests, and Oluwakemi Odunsi-Ujiagbe will moderate a session.
