Nigeria’s Magnus Ukadike, former Obidient DG, emerges Councilor in Brazil

A Nigerian man. Mr. Magnus Nnachebe Ukadike has emerged Councilor representing Itaquera, under the Sao` Paolo municipality in Brazil.

According to a report monitored from the Africa Podcast, on Afrobrazillink, anchored by Chifex, Ukadike was elected in the last municipality elections courtesy of the overwhelming support of  both the immigrant and host community population in Sao Paolo. The presenter, in announcing the historic event,  also acknowledged the leadership and mobilizing support of Okenwa 1, chairman of the Imo State community in Brazil, for extensively mobilizing his people to ensure their son was elected.

Magnus Ukadike, popularly known as Magnus of Africa, who was also DG of the Obidient movement in Brazil, during the run up to the 2023 general election in Nigeria, is an indigene of Orlu in Imo State, Nigeria, and has paid his dues in supporting the Brazilian community development in Sao Paolo and beyond, building an integrity and reputation that earned him the trust of the people, hence they entrusted their mandate with him. This has been described as the first of its kind in Brazil.

In the inauguration video, an excited Magnus was seen flying both the Nigerian and Brazilian flag while walking towards the podium to receive his certificate of election.

Speaking after their inauguration, which took place on the 20th of January 2025, in Sao Paolo, Brazil, Mr Ukadike thanked the Brazilian government for offering the immigrants the unique opportunity of participating in their government, without which his ambition would have been a pipe dream. He also thanked his family, friends, and members of his constituents for entrusting him with their mandate while promising never to let any of them down.

Magnus Nnachebe Ukadike, is among other things, the founder of CTAfrica, a sociocultural organization which focuses in the promotion of African cultural values in Brazil and beyond.
